System types and standard calculation This module has been dedicated to the floor, wall and ceiling radiant system sizing for heating and cooling. The software designs the system according to the property of the most demanding area and draws the circuit’s layout automatically according to ASHRAE Standards.
Types of Systems allowed are: - A. Tubes buried in concrete slab structures
- B. Tubes embedded in wood or dry structures
- C. Tubes mounted in plasterboard
Graphical and non-graphical data input The starting point for the sizing of circuits is represented by the winter and summer energy values from each room in the project. These values can be input manually by the user from tables containing the room properties or automatically from heating and cooling calculation results generated by Mc4 Software.
Project databases, Supply temperatures calculation and Circuits drawing Databases containing all components needed for radiant system design such as tubes, panels, tube-panel combinations, coverings, allowed pipe spacing and manifolds are included with the software. This database is also fully customizable by the user. The calculation of the floor heating systems can be summarized as follows: - A preliminary calculation in which the software indicates the number of necessary circuits room by room according to various parameters
- A second phase in which the software will effectively size the ray and automatically generate the relative tubing layout drawing
- A few simple commands complete the layout and connect all manifolds
- The above features combined with non-modal extended data windows which permit modification in a real time within the project, allow the user to quickly obtain the best layout
Snow and Ice Melting The heat capacity for Snow and Ice Melting (SIM) Systems can be determined one of three ways. - The system capacity can be calculated based on specific design conditions such as snow fall rates and wind velocity
- Tables from ASHRAE can be used to determine the system requirements
- The user can specify the heat required
After the capacity is determined, the program indicates the pipe spacing, number of circuits and water temperature required to complete the project.
